Another year has come and the 2016 installment of the annual Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade went off with a Ho! Ho! Ho!
Sunday, December 4 to the delight of children and their families, the parade marched through the streets of the Newfoundland and Labrador capital, with the big man himself marking the end. Here are just a few highlight photos and clippings from the parade which saw Santa do the dabbin’ dance!

If you were in St. John’s yesterday and have youth in your life, chances are good you paid the annual visit to the downtown area to take in the annual St. John’s Christmas Parade. As always, it’s capped off with an appearance from the jolly ol’ elf himself, and this year was no exception. Take a look at today’s front page image from The Telegram to see for yourself!
Bruce Templeton was honoured last night at the Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Awards, along with Ashlee Gosse, for his efforts to raise funds for Rotary Polio Plus. Over 150,000 vaccinations against polio have been afforded thanks to the proceeds raised through the sale of Templeton’s book The Man in the Red Suit (Creative Publishing) amongst other initiatives.

Thanks to Santa’s assistant on the ground in Newfoundland and Labrador, arrangements were made to have ‘the man in the red suit’ accompany Premier Kathy Dunderdale when she went to read to children at Roncalli Elementary this morning.

The book has appeared at number seven on the Globe and Mail bestsellers list as of October 20 and will hopefully continue to rise, as Chapters Indigo is now going to be listing the book in some of its larger stores.
